We’re on the final lap of this annual run that culminates in a truly amazing show for fans and creators alike! As we approach the show, coordinators, exhibitors, and vendors are finding that, while they’ve spent so much time preparing for the show, there is still so much left to do! When it comes down to it, we all need as much time to prepare as possible.

This year we are kicking off the show at 10am promptly. Exhibitors & vendors are expected to be setup and ready to roll at this time. You can begin your setup as early as 8am. Please remember to register prior to your setup as you will be required to have your credentials visible on your person at this time.

If you require special assistance or consideration, feel free to contact us and we will accommodate you to the best of our abilities!

STRIP – The Dallas Webcomics Expo concludes at 5:00pm. We request that all participants & attendees begin wrapping up their day shortly before this time so everyone can wrap up in a timely fashion. We would like to have the rooms cleared by 6:00pm. Keep in mind that while our Third Annual Expo has come to an end at that time, the STRIP’s 70′s & 80′s Retro Jam Live Art Show is just about to begin!

We Encourage All Artists To Participate!

Our Live Art Show will run from 6:30pm – 10:00pm in the Magnolia Room of the Southfork Hotel. You will be able to watch artists create great art work for sale with all proceeds donated to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital For Children. This year’s Live Art Show theme is “The 70s/80s Retro Jam!” Artists will create original pieces – borrowing flavours from the pop culture of the 1970s-1980 era.

Grab your favourite drink at the Cattlemen’s Bar next to the Magnolia Room and enjoy the musical entertainment of DJ Mattrix as he spins & mixes tunes from the 70s & 80s.

The Live Art Show is open to the public and free to attend! We do ask, but not require, donations of any amount to attend the show. All donations will be added to the proceeds of the sold art and donated to the Texs Scottish Rite Hospital For Children.

We hope you have a fantastic show and look forward to seeing you!

This year we have the honour of hosting a variety of individuals from both sides of the talent spectrum – ranging from the relative newcomers to the seasoned vets. We are just as excited to present this year’s Panel Schedule as you are to sit in on them. So make sure to plan you trip accordingly and write down a couple of questions! This is to be a day you won’t want to miss!

Gary has written five produced screenplays: his original Where’s Bassett’s Body? Won Best Screenplay By A Texas Writer at the Loner Star Screenplay Competition. Kent has worked with, among others: Jack Nicholson, Bruce Willis, Penny Marshall, Bruce Dern, Ann-Margret, and Man From Uncle, Robert Vaughn.

Stunt-wise, his work as Stunt Coordinator on Don Coscarelli’s “Bubba Ho-Tep” became a classic virtually overnight. Gary’s car-jacking drag of actor Esai Morales in Rainy Day Friends, a film Gary also wrote and directed, won Best Special Stunt in a Motion Picture at the International Stuntman Awards. His memoir, Shadows and Light/Journeys With Outlaws In Revolutionary Hollywood was picked by Laura Wagner, of Classic Images, as the Best Film Book of the year, 2011.

Gary is now preparing two of his pics (The Pyramid and Rainy Day Friends) for international DVD release, and getting fluffed up to star as the meanest son-of-a-bitch sheriff of all in Drew Thomas’s 2012 Texas Noir-Western, “Gun Barrel Highway.”

The Taffeta Darling has been an original persona in the Dallas media community over the past few years. Starting off as a pinup model and working on her dream as a cosplay enthusiast, she feels lucky enough to work various conventions in support of her favorite artists. She was nominated and won Sam Johnson’s coveted Fan Babe of the Year for 2010, and was a finalist in the “Hot Rods and Heels” Texas’ Pin-Up Model of the Year for 2011.

Willing to travel cities near and far in hopes of finding her next adventure, Taffeta has worked with artists from Troublemaker Studios, Spacegun Studios and was recently seen on Attack of the Show on the G4 Network. She has returned from her first hosting appearance in Denver, CO at HorrorFest, and is ready to set the world on fire all over again.

The Taffeta Darling is the OFFICIAL Mascot for STRIP – The Dallas Webcomics Expo! She will be dressed in her uniform and available for photo-ops. Be sure to visit her table for prints and autographs, too!
